I’m very excited for this residency to help expand on the knowledge I gained in pharmacy school. Also, it gave me additional professional experience through presenting my research at a conference. This class helped me grow as a pharmacist by learning what challenges my future patients may face. I was also able to create a poster on my cultural group and present it at the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin’s annual meeting. I learned some of the challenges that women and underserved members in our community face. Overall, I gained so much experience through this course. Lastly, I conducted a research project about a cultural group in Southeast Wisconsin regarding their health beliefs as it pertained to women’s health. Additionally, I volunteered at a group home for pregnant women and their children experiencing homelessness. For that course, I was able to interview several health professionals working with women in healthcare.
They were both very excited to take me on as a student. I asked them if it was possible for me to do an independent study course on women’s health. Prior to starting my 3 rd year, I approached Dr. Through my time at Concordia, I began to have an interest in women’s health. What experiences made the biggest impact in your growth as a pharmacy student at Concordia? Everyone was approachable, willing to answer my questions, and helped me decide what kind of pharmacist I would like to be when I graduate. LaDisa were willing to teach me in an independent study about women’s health. Kostrzewa helped me discover one of my passions was in public health. Springer allowed me the opportunity to conduct research in her lab on Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Stoehr shared with me the amazing work compounding pharmacists do to help meet their patient’s needs. I was able to sit down with several different members of the faculty to learn more about different areas of practice.ĭr. One of the great things about Concordia is the faculty. When I started pharmacy school, I did not know exactly what area of pharmacy I wanted to pursue after graduation. What was the best part of being a pharmacy student at Concordia? And here I am, writing this so people can know that it hasn’t changed. The sad part is I even wrote this as feedback on a survey they sent out. I just switched PCPs to avoid this office.
It’s not worth my time to put up with this. Today, the receptionist called to set up an appointment and was very short and rude on the phone. They continued on and started to gossip about another coworker being gone and why/where he/she was. When I was checking out and paying for the visit, the receptionist, mid transaction, stopped to talk to another employee about lunch. The receptionists seemed bothered that they would have to assist me.
Apparently they wanted to take my blood, or so it was figured out from the several nurses in the hallway who noticed I was in the room. A nurse led me to a room and left without saying anything. In my initial visit, there seemed to be a drastic lack of communication. However, the staff is why I switched PCPs. Initially, I was surprised they had an opening for new patients in Fitchburg.
Unfortunately, I had a similar experience as the other user.
